Wee Waa Rotaract Club members Kirk Harvey (District 9660 Rotaract Representative) and Will Lonergan are about to set out on a journey across Australia with the mission of visiting as many Rotaract clubs as possible.
Driving from one club to the next, they plan to immerse themselves in Rotaract projects across the country, exchanging ideas on community service projects, membership engagement strategies, and fostering friendships along the way. Between club visits, they will take the opportunity to camp and fish at every chance, all while reflecting on their experiences and preparing for the next leg of their adventure.
Through their travels, Kirk and Will aim to foster a sense of unity and collaboration among Rotaract clubs, emphasising the importance of community engagement and sustainable development. By exchanging ideas and learning from diverse local perspectives, they hope to inspire creativity and resilience within each club, empowering Rotaractors to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
This journey not only strengthens the fabric of the Rotaract network but also reinforces the shared values of service, leadership and friendship that define the global Rotaract movement.
“The trip serves as a catalyst for fostering stronger inter-club connections and collaboration. Kirk and Will hope to inspire others within the Rotaract community to consider similar initiatives.”
Kirk and Will bring with them a wealth of first-hand experiences and insights from their own club’s activities and initiatives. By sharing these experiences during their visits, they hope to inspire and inform other clubs about innovative ways to engage with local communities.
The trip serves as a catalyst for fostering stronger inter-club connections and collaboration. Kirk and Will hope to inspire others within the Rotaract community to consider similar initiatives, whether it’s organising regional exchanges, collaborative projects, or cross-country visits. This, in turn, fosters a spirit of camaraderie and mutual support among clubs, enhancing their collective ability to address local challenges and amplify their impact.
Kirk and Will are leading by example, urging fellow Rotaract members to join them on a cross-country Rotaract road trip convoy to connect with other clubs, explore Australia, and spotlight the essential role of young people in Rotary.
By showcasing the dedication and enthusiasm of Rotaract members, Kirk and Will encourage others to actively engage in service and leadership roles, reinforcing the collective commitment to making a meaningful difference in communities across Australia.
