One Team. One Vision. One Focus. One Goal.

In 2023, Rotary International made public the research conducted among non-Rotary members in 15 countries, including Australia, by Leger Research USA. One finding was that nine per cent of non-Rotarian Australians said they would like to join Rotary if they knew more about what Rotary did. That means there are almost two million Australians out there willing to join Rotary. The percentage can be similar in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

And yet the statistics speak otherwise.

In the last Rotary year, less than 3,000 new members joined Rotary in Zone 8. Almost 4,500 members resigned and only four new Rotary clubs were formed in our region. That’s the lowest number of new clubs established in our zone in a single year within the last ten years!

The purpose of the Rotary Pacific Regional Council is to steer Rotary and Rotaract on a new growth trajectory, presenting a great opportunity for clubs to try some new membership tactics.

To reverse the drastic decline in membership, we must find the most productive strategies that will achieve exponential membership growth in our clubs. Clubs are where members join. Clubs are our product and our showroom. How can we make our clubs irresistible, so people want to belong to Rotary?

The Regional Council has brought together an expert Membership Team of 25 membership champions spanning the Pacific region, each with proven expertise in key membership areas such as member retention, member attraction and starting new clubs. They are a resource available to Rotary and Rotaract clubs, Rotary Community Groups (RCGs), and districts.

They are One Team. With One Vision. One Focus. One Goal.

Our Membership Team will give it their best shot to steer Rotary back to growth in our region – please join us on this new journey!
