The 2023 AGFR Annual Tournament at Tura Beach brings together Rotarian golfers and their partners from across Australia for a wonderful week of competition, fun and fellowship.
Rotarian golfers and partners are heading to the Sapphire Coast in 2023, when the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (AGFR) holds its 45th annual tournament at Tura Beach Country Club from March 26-31.
Co-Chairs of the Organising Committee, Past RI Director Noel Trevaskis and Golf Professional Loraine Lambert, are looking forward to welcoming golfers and partners to this beautiful part of the Bega Valley on the far south coast of New South Wales, approximately halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and three hours from Canberra.
The course is a championship course designed by Peter Thompson and has held many Pro-Am events over the years. Overlooking the pristine waters and white sands of Tura Beach, it is often referred to as ‘the club with million-dollar views’. Weaving its way down to the beach and back again through mature eucalyptus forest with undulating terrain, the Par 73 course is a must-play for both serious and leisure golfers.
The field will be limited to 100 players for the 2023 AGFR tournament.
Non-golfing partners have not been forgotten, with Sue Trevaskis organising four great day tours that will interest everyone.
Tours will include a guided walking tour of the township of Bega, before moving on to the seaside village of Tathra for lunch. A visit to the whaling town of Eden, including time at the Killer Whale Museum followed by lunch in Boyd Town, offers some fascinating insights into these historic destinations. A private tour of the historic estate of Kameruka, which was owned by the Lucas Tooth family for over 150 years and was one of the original farming settlements of the Bega Valley, is a must-do while in the area. Or take a step back in time in Tilba Tilba; the first township in Australia to be heritage listed, this historic village
has not changed in over 100 years.
Funds raised during the week will go towards the provision of all-ability play equipment in Spencer Park, Merimbula.
Golfer or non-golfer, the 2023 AGFR Annual Tournament in Tura Beach is a wonderful opportunity to join Rotarian golfers from all states of Australia for a week of discovery, golf, fun, fellowship and making new friends.
