The Northwest Regional Careers Expo is coordinated each year by the Rotary Club of Tamworth First Light. The expo helps the region’s students navigate the extensive career pathways available to them.
With over 70 exhibitors, the expo is the largest in the region. Exhibitors range from local businesses, leading universities and colleges, registered training organisations, disability services, industry professionals and job agencies.
“Club members work with the Careers Adviser Network to ensure the best possible information is provided for students.”
The event enables students to discuss their career options face-to-face with various organisations.
Assistance with subject choices is provided for those wanting to apply for tertiary education. The local regions are showcased to encourage students to return after completing their study.

The expo is funded by district grants so that students and the public can attend free of charge.
Attendees are school students from Years 10 to 12. Not only do all Tamworth schools attend, but many travel from Gunnedah, Armidale, Walcha, Manilla, Barraba, Glen Innes, Narrabri, Scone and Quirindi. Up to 1,800 students walk through the expo over the entire day.
This year’s expo was held on May 18.
