Historic Greymouth cranes get new lease on life

The Rotary Club of Greymouth’s innovative approach to community projects has resulted in a partnership with Tai Poutini Polytechnic and, each Rotary year, a local cause: trees, gardens and a play area for the new hospital; 24/7 accessible automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and AED/CPR training with St John Ambulance Greymouth; and now with the Greymouth Heritage Trust to restore historic wharf cranes.

Over the past few months, a bunch of Greymouth Rotarians and friends have been donning hi-vis vests and helmets and spending several happy and noisy Saturdays water blasting and rivet busting.
